Spring: 3-Night Itinerary
Day 1 – Putting Green
Arrive at Sonora Resort by helicopter or seaplane from Vancouver or by water taxi from Campbell River. Sink a hole-in-one at our 9-hole putting green before sitting down in Tyee Dining Room for gourmet cuisine showcasing West Coast ingredients. Settle into your luxurious, ocean-facing accommodation to rest up for a thrilling day of adventure ahead.
Day 2 – Guided Salmon Fishing & Island Currents Spa
After a sweet or savoury breakfast, hit the water on a Guided Salmon Fishing Tour where it’s not uncommon to catch glimpses of Bald Eagles and Grizzly bears while out to hook a chinook salmon. After an exciting day on the water, treat yourself to a Fisherman’s Fix massage at the Island Current Spa to address those tired muscles used to reel in “the big one”. As the sun dips lower, a custom cocktail from the bar and specialty Dungeness Crab Dinner will whet your appetite.
Day 3 – Helicopter Hiking
Sweep over the tree-line in a private helicopter to begin your hike with your Certified Alpine Guide. Enjoy Helicopter Hiking amidst remote peaks and alpine meadows while gazing down upon the glistening waters of the Pacific. Half or full-day hiking excursions may be customized from easy to advanced levels of difficulty. Sit down to a sumptuous Chef’s Tasting Menu upon your return and complete your day with a soothing soak in a private hot tub under the stars.
Day 4 – Eco Tour
Start your morning enjoying a delicious coffee in your room, then hop aboard a 1 or 2-hour Eco Adventure Tour in search of Bald Eagles, Harbour seals, Steller sea lions and more. Savour a delicious lunch made from local BC ingredients before departing the resort.

Summer: 3-Night Itinerary
Day 1 – Fly Fishing Lesson
Arrive at Sonora Resort by helicopter or seaplane from Vancouver or by water taxi from Campbell River. Settle into your luxurious accommodation, then head straight to your 1-hour fly fishing lesson at the Sonora pond to catch and release Rainbow Trout. Dine in the warm summer breeze on the Tyee Patio overlooking the ocean vista.
Day 2 – Helicopter Kayaking or Paddleboarding
A hearty breakfast in the Dining Room boosts your energy for an incredible adventure ahead – a Helicopter Glacier Paddle. Enjoy a thrilling helicopter ride with jaw-dropping views of ancient glaciers and towering peaks to a remote glacial lake for a paddle on an open kayak or stand-up paddleboard. Navigate turquoise waters between icebergs with a Certified Paddle Canada Guide and capture stunning photos of the surrounding scenery. Slow down tonight to a sumptuous Chef’s Tasting Menu and Sommelier’s wine pairing in the Tyee Dining Room.
Day 3 – Guided Salmon Fishing
After a sweet or savoury breakfast, head out on a fishing vessel on your Guided Salmon Fishing Tour in search of Chinooks, Pinks, Sockeye, Coho and Chum. Enjoy this opportunity to spot wildlife along the coastline from Bald eagles to Grizzly bears and Steller sea lions. In the evening, sit down to a gourmet dinner and sip fine wine or mingle with other guests in the lounge or games room.
Day 4 – Bike
Start early this morning with a mountain biking experience on trails ranging from beginner to experienced, then cool off with a relaxing soak in the Mineral Pools at the Island Currents Spa. For lunch, enjoy a gourmet pizza fresh from the woodstone oven on the Tyee Patio before leaving the resort.

Fall: 3-Night Itinerary
Day 1 – Archery
Arrive at Sonora Resort by helicopter or seaplane from Vancouver or by water taxi from Campbell River. Don’t skip a beat of adventure and head straight to your 1-hour Archery lesson with your experienced Sonora guide in quest of the elusive bullseye. Once you have settled into your luxurious ocean-facing room, sample an a-la-carte menu prepared with seasonal fall ingredients by our expert chefs.
Day 2 – Grizzly Bear Tour
Observe one of the most magnificent and elusive animals on the continent – the great Grizzly Bear in its wild habitat. The Grizzly Bear Tour is a short voyage to the Orford River by boat where you are met by an experienced Homalco First Nations guide. Continue on your journey by vehicle to covered bear viewing towers to watch these spectacular animals pluck salmon from the riverbanks. Back at Sonora, lace up your hiking boots and head out on one of our many trails for an afternoon trek through the lush forest. End the day with an impressive culinary treat – a Tomahawk Steak Dinner and Sommelier’s wine pairing.
Day 3 – 4-Hour Eco Expedition
After a delicious sweet or savoury breakfast, join the 4-Hour Eco Expedition for a thrilling day in search of big marine mammals in their natural habitat. Our open-air, 28ft zodiac-style boat zips around the Discovery Islands for perfect viewing opportunities of whales, dolphins, sea lions and more. This afternoon, soak in a luxurious treatment at Island Currents Spa for total body and spirit wellness at our ocean-side retreat. Spend a cozy evening in the Tyee Dining room with a candlelit dinner as you sip a glass of wine from Sonora’s award-winning cellar.
Day 4 – Games Room and Golf Simulator
This morning, get a few swings in at one of Sonora’s Golf Simulators or challenge an opponent to chess in the games lounge. Enjoy one last memorable lunch before departing the resort.
