Wilderness Adventures Blind Channel Tour
Enjoy an extended eco-adventure tour by land and sea. Travel through the swirling whirlpools of Blind Channel in our zodiac-style boat while searching for Steller sea lions, Dall’s porpoises and Harbor seals. Then hop ashore and explore nature’s cathedrals in the lush temperate rainforest of West Thurlow Island, the most northern island in the Discovery Islands. Exploring the forest on foot is especially awe-inspiring. The old-growth rainforests along British Columbia’s coast boast ancient cedars that tower hundreds of feet high.
Throughout the 60-75 minute hike, our wilderness guide will recount tales of the area, share local flora and fauna and perhaps sample a delicious wild berry (or two).
This route is along wilderness trails (not man-made paths) with exposed tree roots and rocks. Wildneress trails can be slippery after rainy weather. To best enjoy this tour, guests must be able to comfortably board and exit the vessel, walk for an extended period on natural and uneven forest trails and climb a steep trail, similar to a flight of stairs.
