Sonora Resort operates seasonally from May through October, during which time our staff work and live on site at Sonora Resort. Shift work is required during resort operational season; comprised of 10 working days and 4 non-working days, subject to change during peak season. We require a minimum commitment of one season to be eligible for a position.

The Spa Manager will have a passion for excellence in guest service and a strong background in luxury spa management. They will provide direction and leadership in the daily operation of the Island Currents Spa and Wellness Centre. The Spa Manager is responsible for ensuring all productivity and expense controls are followed as well as ensuring that all revenue opportunities, in keeping with the positioning of Sonora Resort, will be capitalized upon. The Spa Manager has a keen ability to build strong relationships, lead a team of spa professionals and deliver an amazing guest experience that distinguishes the Island Current Spa and Wellness Center as one of the finest resort spas in the world.

Dock Staff: Prepare guests for all marine activities, meet and assist with boats and arrivals, departures and guest luggage, outdoor building maintenance, facilitate on island activities. Pleasure Craft Operators Card, valid Driver’s License, and Level 1 First Aid training required.
Junior Sous Chef: Assist with the direction and leadership of the main kitchen including supervising a team of direct reports. 3+ years of cooking experience, 1+ year supervisory experience, culinary arts level 1, 2, or 3 required, Red Seal certifications are an asset.
Chef de Partie, Day Cook, Breakfast Cook: Deliver unique and exquisite dishes that compliment a world class dining experience. Positions are well-rounded and versatile. 3+ years of cooking experience, culinary arts level 1, 2, or 3 required, Red Seal certifications are an asset.
Pastry Chef, Pastry Sous Chef, Pastry Assistant: Execute all pastry preparation including breakfast pastries, lunch desserts, box lunch baked goods, dinner desserts, handmade chocolates and petit fours and our in-house bread program. 3+ years of cooking experience, 1+ year supervisory experience (Chef, Sous Chef), culinary arts level 1, 2, or 3 required, Red Seal certifications are an asset.
Dishwashing Steward: Oversee the cleanliness and organization in the dish washing area of the Main Kitchen.
Dining Room Supervisor: Assist with the direction and leadership of the restaurant including supervising a team of direct reports and ensuring a world class fine dining experience for our guests. 2+ years of fine dining experience, 1+ year supervisory experience required, WSET qualifications are an asset.
Bartender/Fine Dining Server: Create seasonal cocktail lists & hand-crafted cocktails, Serve guests in the Dining Room, oversee bar inventory. 2+ years bartending experience, WSET qualifications are an asset.
Fine Dining Server: Serve guests, be knowledgeable about our world-class cuisine, execute side duties. 2+ years of fine dining experience required, beginner WSET qualifications are an asset.
Housekeeping Supervisor: Assist with direction and leadership of the housekeeping department including supervising a team and maintaining a 5-star quality cleaning service. 2+ years of housekeeping experience, 1+ year supervisory experience required.
Houseperson: Respond to special service requests, stocking and maintaining housekeeping closets and resort laundry, cleaning of guest rooms and common areas. 1+ years of housekeeping experience preferred.
Housekeeper: Provide cleaning service for our 88 luxury guest rooms including turndowns and special services, resort laundry and cleaning the resort common areas. 1+ years of housekeeping experience preferred.
Night Janitor: Prepare the resort common areas for the next business day including cleaning public areas, floors, laundry and pressing. 1+ years of housekeeping experience required.
Spa Practitioner: Provide an exceptional spa experience to guests including massage, facials, signature treatments and nail care. Certificate of completion in recognized Massage or Esthetics Spa Practitioner program required; yoga teaching certificates are an asset.
Spa Practitioner & Yoga Teacher: Provide spa treatments including massage, facials, signature body treatments and nail care, as well as All-levels Hatha Yoga Classes. Please not we do not have a Yoga Teacher Only position. Certificate of completion in recognized Massage or Esthetics Spa Practitioner program required, Yoga Teaching certificate required.
Guest Services Agent: Provide exceptional front desk and gift shop guest experience for guests including welcoming and rooming guests, check ins, guest account reconciliation, check outs, retail merchandising and daily cash outs. 1+ years front desk agent experience required.
IT & A/V Coordinator: Provide technical support for Sonora Resort’s guests, business and staff. This position will also undertake guest services duties as required. 2+ years IT related field experience required, technical school or certifications are an asset.
Night Audit: Reconcile daily financials of the business whilst ensuring the safety, security and care of the resort, and its guests overnight. 2+ years night audit experience required.
Head Gardener: Assist with the direction and leadership of the grounds including supervising a team of gardeners. Organize the garden maintenance schedule, maintain existing gardens and tropical conservatory. 2+ years gardening or landscaping experience required, 1+ year supervisory experience required. Horticulturalist certification an asset.
Gardener’s Helper: Maintain existing gardens, lawns and resort grounds, including a tropical conservatory. Weeding, watering, small landscaping projects. 1+ year gardening or landscaping experience preferred.
Grounds Maintenance: Maintain Sonora’s outdoor spaces, roads and trails. Daily testing, maintenance and cleaning of Sonora’s hot tubs and pools. Oversee refuse management through garbage & recycling collection and disposal. 1+ year general labor experience and/or pool maintenance preferred.
