Early arrivals and late departures

If you are arriving before 3pm and would like immediate access to your room, we recommend booking your room for the night prior. Similarly, if departing later than 2:00PM, and must have access to your room beyond this time, please consider reserving your room for an additional night to guarantee extended access. If you choose not to reserve we will store your bags and our fitness facilities will be available for your use.

Can I smoke at the resort?

All of the guest rooms and public lodges are smoke free. Guests can smoke outside in the designated smoking areas

Are dogs allowed?

Sonora is home to 3 Golden Retrievers, and we regret we do not allow any other pets on property

Is there a dress code for dinner?

There is no formal dress code for dinner in the Tyee Lodge. Please wear what you feel comfortable in.

Are gratuities included?

Gratuities are not included, nor required, but they are always appreciated. If  you have enjoyed your stay and wish to acknowledge the staff, there are envelopes in your guestroom, or you can leave a gratuity on your room account at check out. All gratuities go straight to the staff. 

How can I stay connected?

Sonora provides property wide complimentary WI-FI. Bring your laptop and cell phones (We are Telus, Bell Mobility and Rogers compatible). Computers and telephones - including free international long distance calling - are available for your use.

What is my baggage allowance?

If you are travelling by air to/from Sonora, your luggage must not exceed 25lbs per person. If you are travelling by boat, there is no restriction.  

Will you arrange the ground transportation for my flight?

Our reservations team will make arrangements for you to get to the island by air or water. You will need to make your own travel arrangements to/from the point of departure.

Where do I catch the water taxi?

The water taxi operates at the Discovery Harbour Marina in Campbell River. Guests need to go to ‘G’ dock where they will see signage for Sonora Resort Water Taxi departures.

Is there parking in Campbell River?

Yes. There is ample parking – both private and public - in Campbell River, owned by the Marina. Note - Sonora is not affiliated with this parking space.

What is the cancellation policy?

The full balance of the reservation is due 60 days prior to arrival. At that time 100% cancellation applies. Any scheduled activities are also 100% non-refundable once you are on-site.

How do I apply for a position at Sonora Resort?

Recruitment for seasonal employees begins in February.  Please look out for advertised vacancies, or send your resume with cover letter stating position applied for to careers [at] sonoraresort.com.

Can you accommodate my allergies?

We are happy to cater for dietary restrictions and other allergies. Should you have a serious allergy, please let us know when you make your reservation so we can prepare accordingly.

Can I get married at Sonora?

Yes. Sonora is a beautiful location for a wedding. It has two private villas that are ideal. The resort can accommodate up to 100 guests for a wedding. A guideline price, per guest, for 2 nights’ accommodation and transfers from Vancouver is $2,000. Please contact us on 604-233-0460.
