New Provincial Health Order Update
On August 23, 2021, British Columbia’s Premier John Horgan, Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix announced the implementation of a Proof of Vaccination program for those 12 and older.
This new program stems from British Columbia's commitment to ensure a safe, ongoing, and resilient environment for residents and visitors.
As of September 13, people in British Columbia will be required to be partially vaccinated with at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine to access certain businesses and events. These restrictions apply to Sonora Resort’s facilities. Full details are available here.
In adherence with this order, guests staying at the resort September 13 – 30 will be required to provide proof of vaccination prior to boarding transportation to the resort.
There will be no exemptions for people who choose not to be immunized, including for religious or medical reasons or for those travelling from out of province. Children under 12 will be exempted, but those accompanying them must be vaccinated.
Businesses will be required to look for a guest’s vaccination card and identification, like you would at a liquor store. In terms of enforcement, the Province will be working with businesses to manage the enforcement of these measures and leverage the support of by-law officers.
Providing Proof of Vaccination
Individuals will be able to confidentially access their proof of vaccination through a secure website and save a copy of their proof of vaccination to their phone. A web link will be provided and publicized widely before Sept. 13. To access proof of vaccination, you will need:
●Date of birth
●Personal health number (PHN)
People visiting outside of B.C. will be required to show proof of vaccination.
●Provincially/territorially officially recognized vaccine record
●Valid government ID from the same province or territory when entering or using designated businesses and events
●Proof of vaccination in ArriveCAN
Additional information about providing proof of vaccination can be found on the Provincial Government website here.
Updated B.C. Mask Mandate
●Masks are mandatory in all indoor public spaces in the province for people 12 years and older beginning Wednesday August 25, 2021.
We appreciate your understanding and support of these health measures, to ensure the health and safety of each other and the whole province.
